Like it’s been the previous four years, the Lake of the Ozarks Shootout Bob Morgan Memorial Hall of Fame dinner ceremony on Tuesday evening at the Stables at Cannon Smoked Saloon in Gravois Mills, Mo., was an unforgettable evening filled with speeches (or lack thereof) and tributes to several people who have made their mark on the event, which celebrates 29 years this week. Champion isn’t nearly as involved with the poker run, which takes place on Missouri’s Lake of the Ozarks and benefits the H.E.R.O.E.S. Care program in Fenton, Mo., as he once was since his full-time job with Big Thunder Marine keeps him rather busy, but the event is still going strong. In fact, this year’s 13-stop run that took place.

One of the Lake area’s most popular events is taking placein just a few short weeks! Yes, you guessed it! The Lake of the Ozarks Shootout! There aremany events that will be taking place leading up to the actual races on August26^th and 27^th. With all of these different eventsoccurring, it’s hard to keep track of them. HISTORY

TheLake Rescue Shootout started in 1988 as an event in which many local boatsparticipated simply to establish who had the fastest boat. As the years went byit became a bigger and bigger event that also helped supplement the Lake AreaFire Departments water rescue efforts.

ABOUT

Lakeof the Ozarks Shootout that is being held at Captain Ron’s Bar & Grill andthe 33MM-34.5MM, August 23rd – August 27th, 2017 will bring the top racers andoff shore racing power boats from across the country, topping 244 MPH. Thelargest unsanctioned boat race in the Midwest with over 100 racers and 100,000spectators. Proceeds will benefit the Lake Area Rescue Teams, and othercharitable organizations!
